Dig in your pockets and make a difference. A new creative fundraiser by the Permian Basin Fair and Exposition will allow many to donate to their scholarship fund. The effort known as the “1975 Initiative” will take contributions of $19.75. For under twenty dollars, your generous donation will help area youth achieve higher education. Since 1975, the Fair has awarded over one million dollars in scholarships, an achievement the Fair is notably proud of.

 

The new program, created by the Permian Basin Fair and Exposition Scholarship Board,

 is honorably named 1975, their inaugural year. Since the inception of the Fair, educational scholarships have been awarded to the youth participating in the various divisions of the Fair. Previous recipients have participated in Farming and Ranching, Creative Arts, Junior Fair Board, and the Miss Permian Basin pageant. In 2022, the Fair was able to award $30,000 in scholarships.

 

The 2023 Permian Basin Fair and Exposition is set for September 1 -10. During the Fair’s 10-day run, the Scholarship Board will award $35,000 in scholarships. The scholarship process includes an application, participation, and an interview.
