The Permian Basin Fair & Expo is set to return for its 50th year, delivering ten days of nonstop excitement, entertainment and a deep-rooted commitment to community impact. From Friday, September 4 through Sunday, September 13, 2026, the fair will once again transform Odessa into a celebration of West Texas heritage, youth achievement and family fun—marking a milestone golden anniversary for one of the region’s most treasured traditions.

Fairgoers can expect a dynamic mix of traditional and modern attractions, including livestock shows, creative arts exhibits, thrilling carnival rides, distinctive shopping experiences and beloved fair food favorites. The fair continues to reflect the spirit of West Texas, offering something for every generation.

New Specialty Acts for Every Age

This year’s fair days are packed with thrilling specialty acts for all ages. Featured attractions include the return of the Texan Petting Zoo, back after a few years away and ready to delight guests once again with exotic animals and some of the cutest furry friends around. The petting zoo will also include a pony carousel, giving younger guests the chance to experience pony rides in a safe and engaging setting.

High-Energy Entertainment

Additional specialty acts include Circus Zirkus, bringing high-energy entertainment and crowd-pleasing performances, as well as the long-standing Wild West Show, adding a nostalgic and adventurous flair to the fair experience. Returning fan favorites like the RC-controlled cars will once again bring hands-on, high-speed excitement.
Live music will energize the fairgrounds each day, featuring a diverse lineup including some regional favorites — the full lineup will be revealed later this summer. Some exciting changes are coming to the fair: while Dollar Day will no longer be offered in its traditional format, guests can look forward to budget-friendly options and special values offered throughout the entire fair schedule. More than just an annual celebration, the Permian Basin Fair & Expo is driven by a mission to support youth and education across the region. Proceeds from the fair directly fund scholarships for local students, with more than $1 million awarded to date. Fair competitions and events — including Royalty Pageants, Talent Show, Creative Arts, Archery Competition and the Dog Extravaganza — provide opportunities for young participants to grow, compete and showcase their talents.

“This isn’t just a fair — it’s an investment in our future. For 50 years, we’ve created a place where families come together, traditions are honored and young people are supported through scholarships and opportunities that make a lasting impact.”
